The establishment of Electoral Literacy Clubin SMHDDCW (ELCs) is a significant initiative aimed at promoting voter education and fostering a deeper understanding of the democratic process among students. It will serve as a platform to engage students in activities that enhance their knowledge about elections, voting rights, and the importance of active citizenship.The primary goal of our ELC is to create an informed and responsible electorate. By educating students about the electoral process, ELC aim to instill the values of democracy and civic responsibility.The ELC conducts workshops and seminars,*Awareness Campaigns.

All these prepares the young students to face and address challenges related to electoral malpractices and promotes ethical voting practices. By fostering a deeper understanding of democracy and electoral processes, the ELC contribute significantly to the strengthening of democratic values and institutions.

The ELC at Shahid Matangini Hazra Govt General Degree College for Women works in collaboration with the IQAC and Dept of Political Science.

Basudev Mandal,Asst Professor,Dept of Chemistry is at present the Nodal Officer.It has 20 student members among whom there are two coordinators.
